While the calendar tells us we are still in the season of fall, Mother Nature is telling us it is winter. A time of colder weather, occasional winter storms, more quiet, and Christmas lights and decorations. Today, we have 15″ of snow on the ground, and there is a hush over the entire town. There is also a hush or a pause in how I am approaching my creativity.
As much as I want to push forward, I am paying heed to an inner calling to rest more. Find new sources of inspiration and energy. Replenish my reserves. It is a time to look inward and look ahead to what I want to create next. Without taking stock and acknowledging all you have created thus far, we can place ourselves in a continual state of doing and striving — a summer heat which threatens to stall our engines entirely. Make space and time to enjoy the season you are in, as well as the new colors, tempo, and insights it brings.
