As the daughter of an artistic entrepreneur, I wanted to be successful in business and highly creative. 

But through years of distraction and anxiety-driven productivity, the idea that I could be both fell from my grasp.

In 2008, it felt as though everything I had worked for was falling apart: my marriage, my finances, and my health. It was the dawn of the Great Recession, and I was drowning in debt and fear. 

It wasn’t until I began my own Creative Rebel’s Voyage™  and started implementing small-yet-powerful habits that I saw how I could move through these obstacles: by embracing inspired creativity. 

To access creativity, however, we must mindfully fuel it; we must cultivate inspiration, and unleash it without fear of judgment.

About The Innovation & Creativity Institute

The Innovation & Creativity Institute began in 2006 while I was studying Entrepreneurship as a master’s student.

As part of an Innovation & Creativity class, I was introduced to IDEO, a Palo Alto design firm that encourages playfulness, creativity, and wild ideas.

I was captivated and set out to learn everything I could about innovation and creativity. I researched, digging deep and implementing every lesson learned into my ever-developing methodology as I worked with entrepreneurs, corporate teams, and nonprofit leaders. 

Every nugget of knowledge and firsthand experience with clients was carefully folded into my approach, curriculum, and tools.

In 2011—during some of the most tumultuous years of my life—I launched a successful real estate firm with $5,000 and was debt-free and financially secure by 2014. 

I leaned into exploring art and creativity, and little by little, I realized my power as an artist—sketching, painting, and creating my way to a new vibrant, clear, and courageous state of being. 

I sold my real estate enterprise in 2018 which freed more time to focus my attention and creative energy towards coaching entrepreneurs, helping them build their own wildly successful businesses and lives.

Today, I use the insights I’ve gained throughout the last 15 years of researching innovation and creativity—and my own journey of filling my inspiration bucket—and pass them onto entrepreneurs who are ready to break out of the cycle of productivity and burnout.

Susie deVille is the dynamic Founder & CEO of the Innovation & Creativity Institute, a trailblazing business coach, and an accomplished artist. With over 30 years of entrepreneurial success, including the creation and sale of a highly profitable real estate firm, Susie is on a mission to empower individuals to tap into their innate creativity, discover their true selves, and unlock their full entrepreneurial potential.

Susie combines a rich academic background in anthropology and a master’s degree in entrepreneurship with an ongoing commitment to life-long learning from the world’s leading experts. Since 2005, she has been dedicated to researching innovation and creativity, continuously refining her methods to remain at the forefront of her field.

As a human behavior specialist and creative strategist, Susie leverages her expertise to help clients achieve extraordinary goals, build the life and business of their dreams, and weave indelible threads of impact into the social fabric. As a former founding executive director of two nonprofits and passionate philanthropist, Susie has raised over 3 million dollars for nonprofit organizations and charities in her hometown, Highlands, NC.
