Hey, Everyone! This is Susie deVille, Founder & CEO of the Innovation & Creativity Institute. In today’s episode of the Aesthete Aperture, we are going to get a good look at the space in my cottage where I love to create each day: the table next to a bay window that lets in lots of light and views of lush trees. You’ll see that I keep my materials handy, so I can have all my brushes, paints, pens, pencils, papers, washi tape, sketching materials, and recording equipment within arm’s reach.
Every chef knows the importance of mise en place (French for “everything in its place”) before you begin to cook. Similarly, it is always a great idea to have your tools for creating in one place (and within view) to keep your creativity an everyday occurrence–not just for special occasions.
Dedicating a sacred space for creating (no matter how great or small) signals the brain and the heart that you are always open to The Muse and welcome her at your table anytime.
