“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
~ Mark Twain
There are many aspects of divorce that are deeply painful, sad, and lonely—most especially when it comes to the holidays that aren’t “your turn” to be with your kids. In late 2013, I discovered that my son was going to be with his dad for the entirety of the 2014 Spring Break. I remember thinking the school holiday was aptly named as I felt like everything inside of me had broken open.
I spent a day or two feeling very sorry for myself and moping around. And then I asked myself, “How can I turn this completely around and transform this heartache into one of the best moments of my life?”
It wasn’t long before I had my answer: Paris.
It had been almost 25 years since I had been to Europe, and in the moment I had my answer, I realized how much I missed traveling overseas. I began doing some research to see what would be happening in Paris during the week of Spring Break and discovered to my complete ecstasy that Fashion Week would be occurring during the same time. I considered it a nod from the Universe and booked my trip.
I had the time of my life.
I strolled the streets, took in all of the beauty of the city, got my hair and makeup done by world-famous beauticians, hung out at the fashion venues to see the latest street styles, shopped in all of the designer stores, ate the most incredible food, immersed myself in art, and reconnected to a part of myself that I had somehow buried for almost a quarter of a century.
In many ways, my trip to Paris was the beginning of an entirely new life.
I remembered what I had shelved when life just got busy. I remembered what I truly loved, and what made my heart pound with excitement. I was no longer willing to live a life that did not 100% reflect my passion, interests, and desire to live a life of and on purpose.
Travel has a way of getting under your skin in the best way possible. It provides unending inspiration, adventure, and the ability to see everything with new eyes. I can think of no other conduit to one’s creativity that is more powerful than travel.
And so, when I began planning my summer trip to Europe, I decided to offer the same kind of transformational experience I had in Paris in 2014. I have opened up registration for unforgettable, private, one-day VIP coaching experiences in Ireland, Paris, and Italy.
I’m calling these days Rebel Days (short for Creative Rebel’s Voyage Days), because in order to reclaim our true self and creativity, we must shed old expectations, limiting beliefs from others and ourselves, and habits that no longer serve our purpose. As of this writing, the Paris Rebel Day is booked; Ireland and Italy Rebel Days remain available.
So, let me share a little bit about Kim’s story …
“I had reached a point in my business where I was burned out and feeling pretty disenchanted with many areas in my personal life. I was really needing to hit the reset button in a big way and reached out to Susie for coaching. As a result of our working together, I am deeply inspired and rejuvenated, am attracting ideal clients, and am falling in love with my business all over again. I also have a path for what comes next and can see precisely how lucrative and fun my new offerings to the market will be. And, if that weren’t enough, I have reconnected with my creativity in a way that is deeply rewarding and joyful. Not only am I painting, my kids are involved in the fun, too. Working with Susie was one of the best investments I’ve ever made.” ~ Kimberly Robb Baker
These Rebel Days are perfect for the adventurer who wants:
Healing…to give yourself time, space, and quiet so that you can really be honest about the wounds and scar tissue that’s been building up over the years.
Connection…with your Muse. You know, the one who used to inspire you with brilliant flashes of insight and creativity that allowed you to solve any problem, lead with courage, and launch successful offerings to the market.
Adventure…a wild experience in a breath-taking, new location that will give you fresh perspective and renewed energy for what really matters to you.
What we’ve done before: Mapped out what comes next for a client transitioning from an old life to a new one. Cleared a client of self-sabotaging behaviors. Created a plan for clients who are craving more joy, ease, and wealth. Determined what a client’s legacy work was and mapped the plan to bring it to life. Emerged a client into her Zone of Genius and taught her how to consistently work from it. Reignited a client’s creativity, energy, and sense of possibility (she reports the first idea she had as a result of our work returned double her investment). Quadrupled a client’s monthly income.
If you can dream it, we’ll make it possible. All amongst the magic of Dublin, Galway, Lake Garda, or Venice.

Isn’t it rather rare that we “indulge” in surrounding and immersing ourselves in such glorious experiences? Aren’t we typically too busy, too distracted, and too tired to track wonder, curiosity, and delicious moments of appreciating beauty, excellence, and inventiveness?
Is it time for you to infuse your life with deeply transformative adventures that fill your lungs, heart, soul, and cells to the brim so that you have so much to give back—to share—via your creative work?
Purposely choosing a destination that speaks to you, planning the journey, and then escaping the bonds of daily living transports us—literally and figuratively—and takes us to new mindsets we could never imagine possible.
Will you be one of the three Creative Rebels to change your life (and life’s work) this summer? Let’s set sail!
