Like this in-between world of winter and spring, we can as creators find ourselves frustrated by false starts. We can begin projects with great energy and excitement, only to find our efforts sidetracked, stalled, or halted entirely by procrastination, work that is sub par, and failed efforts. Our false starts are an inevitable part of the process, and once I began embracing them, I could find their silver lining. Without winter, we wouldn’t welcome spring as heartily. Without false starts in our work, we wouldn’t know the joyful moment when we find the break-through idea, and the work, at last, comes together.
